The Cutler and Gross Fall Winter 2012/2013 ‘The Golden Trail’ collection in now in stock.
This season Cutler and Gross takes us on an exotic journey through ‘The Golden Trail’ from India, via Turkey and Marrakesh. Using the star of Morocco as their guide, the ultimate symbol of richness, peace and beauty, they navigate across distant lands to discover hidden opulence.
“Desert sunsets are reflected in the Mellow Yellow acetate and in the gentle graduated hues of paprika red, cinnamon brown and deep blue. Sunkissed whites and Gold rolled onto tortoiseshell warm the senses while the gentle colours fig, honey and cumin whet the appetite.”
Throughout the collection there is an adventurous sense of both shape and color. For women, frames recall the 1970’s, with oversized round and octagonal designs. For men, frames are thick and chunky and a twist on classic 60’s styles, with their wide temples and strong brow bars.
As always each piece is flawlessly executed using the absolute finest Italian acetate, materials, and craftsmanship you will find throughout the land, whether distant or not. We are proud to present to you ‘The Golden Trail’.
The Collection:
A guiding star this season, and among our favorites, the Cutler and Gross 1072. Oversized, chic, and completely unlike anything we’ve seen before, from front to back the 1072 is a beautiful frame. It features an embossed dual-layered acetate front where it forms a star, as well as embossed dual-layered temples adding dimension, color-depth, and bringing it all together for a single glamorous look. The pictures speak for themselves.
The 0164 is a timeless masculine thick-rimmed frame inspired by 1960s Italian film icon Marcello Mastroianni. It features thick acetate with classic lines and robust hinges, and is available in a plethora of unique colors.
The Cutler and Gross 1070 is a fun-loving round style which combines a variety of materials seamlessly. It features a gold metal front with the top half rimmed in “Deep Blue” acetate, as well as the temples completely covered in luxurious blue leather, it is then paired with blue gradient lenses.
Quintessential Cutler and Gross, the 0261 has a nostalgic 1950’s/60’s feel. It features thick and chunky Italian acetate, wide temples, and vintage rectangular pins. It is handmade and hand polished with hand drilled riveted hinges. Available in: “Chocolate”, Black, and “Sand”.
The Cutler and Gross 1069 is a spirited 1970’s inspired design, from its bold use of shape to color. It features oversized round lenses juxtaposed with an embossed octagon, set off in the eye-catching color-combo of Aubergine(plum) on Turquoise.
The Cutler and Gross 1066 is a smaller fitting frame which works well at providing a refined look on both women and men alike. The 1066 has clean lines and unique features such as a metal bridge, as well as a cool complimentary color pairing, where the front is in one color or finish and temples are in another.
Some of Cutler and Gross’ most beloved core styles are updated this season with new unique colorways. The 0935 and 0886 are now available in “Gold on Dark Turtle”, and the iconic 0734 is now offered in a beautiful semi-translucent pink, perfectly named “Nude Pink”.
The 1060 is a well-proportioned classic design which tends to offer a nice fit for most faces, both men and women alike. It has unique features such as a metal bridge, as well as a complimentary color pairing, where the front is in one color or finish and temples are in another.
